Project Architect

Our Project Architects lead the team to manage the production of contract documents for various types of residential and mixed-use projects. Candidates should be registered with a minimum of 5-8 years of work experience. We look for proactive and self-motivated individuals with excellent communication skills. This role requires management of budgets, consultants and interns to produce comprehensive and well-coordinated construction documents. As such, compensation and benefits are above market. Proficiency in Revit is required.

Interior Designer

Preston Interior Designers participate in all project phases, working closely with architects in studio, to facilitate project objectives. This may include, but is not limited to: programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and furniture specification.

Position Overview:

  • Design development of conceptual design with Principals and designers.
  • Create drawings from the beginning and manage construction documents thru CA in Revit.
  • Create interior renderings in Revit.
  • Finish, furnishings and material selections and specifications.
  • Design product research with development of specifications.
  • Working in Revit (legacy work may involve AutoCAD).
  • Managing RFIs and shop drawings.
  • Space planning.
  • Producing, reviewing and redlining PDFs.
  • Ensuring integration into overall design.
  • Coordinating design objectives with Architects, Engineers, vendors and consultants.
  • Developing and drawing details for interiors projects.
  • Acquiring cost estimates and produces final estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience at an architectural firm.
  • 2+ years of Revit.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Interior Design.
  • Strong space planning skills.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles.
  • Understanding of construction and interior architecture.
  • Knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and other Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Working knowledge of Lumion a plus.
  • Experience in high rise, midrise, garden multifamily and hospitality projects preferred.
  • Excellent communication, positive minded, and collaborative spirit.

Intern Architect

An Intern Architect works with a team of Architects and other interns to produce contract documents for various types of residential and mixed-use projects. Candidates should have previous experience as an Intern Architect, be detail oriented and possess a thorough understanding of how production drawings are produced and coordinated. This role also requires coordinating work with consultants. Proficiency in Revit is required.

Intern Interior Designer

An intern Interior Design Assistant works alongside a team of Interior Designers and Architects to produce contract documents for various types of residential and mixed-use projects. The role also requires managing furniture procurement related tasks, such as tracking, shipping and warehousing. As well as, coordinating with finish and furniture vendors. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and possess a thorough understanding of how drawings are produced and coordinated.

Position Overview:

  • Position requires at least a 20 hour per week time commitment.
  • Assist with general office organizing.
  • Manages resource library and schedules all meetings with industry product reps.
  • Drafting using Revit.
  • Assist team members with presentation materials and boards.
  • Render project elevations or perspectives using Photoshop, Revit or similar programs.

Your Qualifications:

  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design CIDA accredited program.
  • You have completed your third year of an undergraduate program.
  • You are returning to your program after the internship and will be graduating within one year
  • You submit your resume, cover letter, and a digital portfolio that demonstrates design process and innovative design solutions (PDF format with 3-4 work samples)
  • Experience using Revit required.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • 3-D computer rendering and creating parametric Revit family skills is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
