ArchCo Motif is located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale’s burgeoning Flager Village. With 385 apartment units and 26,757 square feet of retail and restaurant space, Motif is a key contributor to the neighborhood’s renaissance. The exterior of the building meshes the Classical and Mediterranean Revival styles of historic Fort Lauderdale with more contemporary forms representative of the 21st Century, especially as those revival styles transitioned to Art Deco. The project occupies a full block, from North Andrews Avenue to Northeast 1st Avenue and from Northeast 6th Street to Northeast 5th Street. Pedestrians traverse a paseo that doubles as a walkway from North Andrews Avenue to Northeast 1st Avenue, as well as a place of entertainment. Ground level spaces include market stalls, outdoor restaurant seating, a 7,396 sq. ft. public plaza and a resident courtyard. Preston is responsible for both architecture and interiors, blending details seemlessly throughout.
