PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This mixed-use residential project is located in the historic city of Old Town Gaithersburg in Maryland and is next to a MARC transit stop. Providing 389 units and 17,500 sq ft of street level retail, the building is designed to fit the unique scale and context of Old Town and is a catalyst for future development. By drawing from the rich architectural heritage in the city, great care was placed in the development of the massing, architectural detail, and the streetscape. The project enlivens the city roofscape with a quintet of unique towers and develops a pedestrian-friendly streetscape with neighborhood retail.

“Over the course of developing more than 7,000 units, you figure out some architects are great at design. Some are great at creating a functional project. Very few can do both. The Preston Partnership is the best at marrying both form and function. They design beautiful buildings that are affordable and efficient. They are the best.”
